Albert’s dirtbike journey started at the age of three when he received his first bike. The 22-year old from Tarragona started off in motocross before moving into enduro fulltime.  

Fontova made his name domestically with five youth enduro titles. Supported by the highly regarded WP Eric Augé team he went on to win the 125cc Spanish title in 2021. Internationally the young Spaniard finished 7th overall in his rookie Youth World Championship campaign in spite of missing two rounds. The 2022 season brought further confirmation of his potential with a 5th in final Youth standings and his first world championship podium in Slovakia.

A switch from KTM to GasGas coincided with his promotion to the Junior World Championship. Coming home 8th, trailing 5th placed Max Erlandsson by only 13 points, underlined Fontova’s ambitions. Albert hit the ground running in 2024 scoring his first podium at the J2 world championship in Portugal.
