Biography

Gifted with the ability to go fast on everything with two wheels Max Spies has had a fascinating run in motocross so far.  The KTM Kosak rider enjoyed early domestic success in the form of a German 85cc title and two 125cc runner-up titles.

His transition to 250s has been a mixed affair, equal parts success and frustration. On the one hand Max ran up front at home and celebrated the 2020 ADAC MX Youngster Cup, he dominated and won the 2021 EMX2t series with Fantic. On the other hand the lanky talent (192cm) didn’t find the right bike package in EMX250 that allowed him to fight upfront consistently.

Opting for an alternative route the fun-loving German kid immediately jumped to the stacked MXGP class in 2023. An encouraging rookie season culminated in his first top-10 in Lommel and a career first podium in the highly regarded ADAC MX Masters. With a year of 450 experience under his belt and with the backing of the motivated KTM Kosak crew “Spicy” wants to keep moving forward in 2024.
