Biography

The long and illustrious career of Kevin Strijbos saw the likable Belgian claim many achievements and bounce back from serious adversary. Beating James Stewart in the 85cc World Championship in 1999 put him firmly on the map. Scoring points in his first ever 125cc GP (2000) and the EMX125 title in 2001 further cemented his reputation as the next superstar of motocross.

Although Kevin had to settle for two MX1 runner-up world titles with the Suzuki Factory team, he did win the MX of Nations with team Belgium and scored six GP victories. Combining mentorship of his younger team mates with his role as a rider at Gebben Van Venrooy Yamaha set him on the path of coaching. Strijbos would built a solid reputation in his tenure as a rider coach at Kawasaki Racing Team with Romain Febre.

The “new Kid” is now a test rider and coach at Fantic Factory Racing MXGP. In his spare time he supports son Jayden who’s making his first steps in the sport.
