Biography

It’s hard to realize he’s only 29 years old Jamie McCanney but has quite the story to tell. The  Isle of Man native rose to the top internationally by winning both the 125cc Youth world Cup (2013) and Junior World title (2015).

After two runner-up world titles in 2017 (E2) and 2018 (E1)  he followed Yamaha in their Dakar adventure the next year. Although Jamie ticked off a top-20 finish in his rookie Dakar participation things didn’t work out in rallyraid in the end. Luckily he kept contact with the enduro world and managed to win the Aveyronnaise classic twice (2019 and 2020) against the “fulltimers.”

Coming back to EnduroGP in 2021 with a 4th place in E2 aboard the Jet Zanardo Husqvarna underlined how competitive McCanney still is on an enduro bike. More progress was made after joining the FastEddy Racing team of four-time enduro world champion Paul Edmondson.

The 2022 season delivered another 4th place, now in the competitive E1 class. Jamie also tasted ISDE glory with an impressive Team GB  win at Le-Puy-en-Velay (France) in 2022. A strong 9th overall in EnduroGP and E1 World championship bronze, a mere three points down on E1 vice world champion Theo Espinasse, erased all doubt to the fact that McCanney is back.
